Power 90 and P90x - What is the Difference and Which is Right For Me?

You've seen the TV commercials, you know people who have purchased the products, you have researched them on internet, but you are still not sure what they are all called and how they differ. Power 90, P90X, PX90, Power 90X are not the same workout and some of the names are not even real. There are actually four programs in the Power 90 series and they are Power 90, Power 90 Masters, P90X, and P90X Plus.

Power 90, the first program in this series, is an "in-home boot camp." It is a series of fun, easy-to-follow workouts designed to help people lose fat and inches while strengthening and toning muscles. The workouts rotate between a cardio routine and a full body resistance circuit training routine. This is a 90-day program. Workouts are scheduled six days a week, about 40 minutes a day.

P90X was originally titled Power 90X before having its name shortened to P90X. P90X was developed to take Power 90 to the next level and was initially introduced in 2004, but was not widely accepted. It was later repositioned and in 2007 began gaining in popularity. It is not considered an entry level fitness program and is better suited for people already in decent shape. There are 12 workout routines consisting of weight training, core training, yoga, plyometrics (also known as athletic jump training), kenpo karate, and stretching. This is a 90 day program. Workouts are scheduled six days a week, about an hour a day.

Power 90 Masters Series was introduced in 2005 after the original introduction of P90X. Power 90 Master Series was developed to be an intermediate level program or warm up for P90X. This series brings in a greater variety of workouts than the original Power 90, and rotates between cardio, plyometrics, interval, core and full body resistance circuit training. This is a 90-day program. Workouts are scheduled six days a week, about 50 minutes a day.

If you completed P90X and want to know what's next, the answer is the P90X Plus Series. This program incorporates some brand new moves and concentrates on muscle endurance. This is a supplemental program to be used in conjunction with P90X. There are five videos in this series and they are each about 45 minutes long.

Six Features of the P90X Power Stands Push Up Bars

The safety and added intensity on your push up routines can be achieved by the use of push up stands. This is the main reason why the Power Stands equipments are widely used in the P90X workout programs.

Another Power Stands product comes after the standard P90X Push Up Stands. With slight modifications and additional features, Tony Horton come out with the design of the P90X Power Stands Push Up Bars. This push up bar is designed for use in professional and more extreme P90X workouts. It looks almost the same as the standard push up stand and it has the following features. Some of these features are also offered by the standard stands.

1. The design of these push up bars is a brainchild of Tony Horton.

When we say Tony Horton we are assured that we are using reliable and well-tested equipments. Horton is responsible for the design of the P90X program and the main equipments used in it.

2. The heavy-duty construction of this equipment can withstand rigid and extreme workouts.

This is made of a premium grade material to sustain prolonged usage. Repeated using of these bars is not a problem. You and your friends can share in one pair of these push up bars with one using it after the other.

3. This equipment has a non-skid base like the one in the standard stands.

The circular base gives a flat and wider base to support the weight of its user. The wider base makes the equipment more stable thus giving you a perfect balance. Its slide free feature ensures your safety and stability of the stands.

4. Like the standard P90X push up stands, the handle of this push up bar is also angled.

The slight angle greatly helps in reducing wrist strains that usually cuts our ability to do more push ups. Your wrist is slightly slanted when holding the bars and this position gives more strength on your arms so you endure more push-ups.

5. It has comfortable foam grips.

The foam grips give a more comfortable hold of the push up bar and less strains on your hand.

6. This equipment has an easy carry and storage feature.

Carrying and storing this equipment is very easy because of its handy size. You can carry it anywhere you like. You may just slide it under your bed for storage and you can just get it if you want to do another set of push-ups.

These are just some of the features boasted by the push up bars. So if you are serious with your body sculpting workouts, you may consider using these push up bars. You can use this equipment if you want an additional intensity and safety on your workout.

P90X - Round 2, Day 40 - Legs/back and AbRipper X (ugh!)

Wow. I felt like I had never done this workout before, last night!! I've never really liked this workout, but I couldn't keep my balance, my knee hurt, my motivation sucked, and this morning??...yeah, SORE as HELL-O!!!! Now, on a good note, I'm sore in all the right places. I just have to whine a bit, 'cuz I really hate legs and back (...but I LOVE it!). Then..on the other side of the room, we find Alana bouncing and squatting like no body's business! She's ALWAYS been able to kick my butt at leg workouts!

So word has been getting around within my industry (work) here in the Denver metro area. Apparently, sales reps (among the different Durable Medical Equipment companies) talk! I had met with a sales rep about a month ago, and she was asking how I had made such a drastic change in my body. So we ended up talking P90X. Then yesterday, another sales rep from a different company, came in just to talk about P90X. He had already completed the program and was wondering, now what??? So, we talked a bit about the P90X+ program. One of the things he mentioned about P90X: he has always been a 'runner', but had never been able to attain the body he wanted. Even as 'active' as he was. He said that P90X was "just what he needed" to get him going in the right direction. He also mentioned that he has NEVER been in as good of shape, as he was when he finished the program....hmmm....sounds familiar!

P90X is NOT a gimmick. P90X works! If you're interested in join Facebook Community , click here! :O)

One one One is Tony Horton in his home gym by himself with only a cameraman. He has some great workouts that to me just improve a little on the P90X and P90X+ stuff. Almost like he said "oooh...I wish I had of done this instead"...

This is really great Jeremy! I might try this myself-and I love the supplements you mentioned-I LOVE no-explode for weight days. Did you get different handles for the black band? Because I have it, and I can't seem to get it in the handles that I got with them because the band is so darn thick. Just wonderin! Have a great one!

P90X+O

OK....week one done on the P90X+O schedule. Feeling awesome! I finally figured out my new Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor and WOW....I have been slinging some calories. Example....PLYO Day....52 Minutes, Max Heart Rate 180, Total Calories Burned - 980!!! Today we finished up the week with Kenpo Cardio+ from P90X+....41 Minutes, Max Heart Rate 181 - Calories Burned - 832!!! I'm loving these numbers. In staying with the schedule posted, I'm ready to hit week 3 so I can test out the Interval workout from P90X+ for calories roasted!

I'm gonna love this new schedule!

Anyone hit Insanity yet? In looking at the video material, it definitely looks insane. I'll be checking it out after this round. I'm also considering some mini-triathlons. Gotta get a bike first though. We shall see...if anyone wants to donate to the Branson Bicycle Fund or knows someone who wants to trade out some clothes that are too big, let me know....HA!

Hope all is well with everyone....please let me know you are still out there. Read Reviews  Here-- P90X Reviews
